1. Wash hands and apply gloves.
2. Remove and appropriately dispose of soiled undergarment, pad or other soiled material.
3. Gently cleanse the perineal skin with a mild skin cleanser.
4. Gently dry the area.
5. Remove gloves and wash hands. Apply new gloves.
6. Apply BazaŽ Antifungal cream evenly over the entire area to be protected.
7. Replace clean collection device i.e., pad, diaper, etc.
8. Dispose of gloves and linens as per policy.
9. Document procedures and report any changes in the patient's skin condition.
10. Repeat this procedure immediately after each incontinent episode. |
